The Akad Nikah
The solemnisation ceremony is intimate, quiet and deeply significant — usually attended by close family only. Soft, natural light and a respectful distance are key here, letting the sincerity of the moment come through without intrusion.
The Bersanding
The dais ceremony, where the couple sits as king and queen for a day, is where colour, texture and design come alive. Intricate pelamin (wedding dais) decorations, matching songket outfits and delicate henna designs all deserve close-up, detail-focused shots alongside the wider scene.
The Berinai and Henna
Henna application ceremonies, often held the night before, are filled with laughter, music and family bonding — a beautiful, more relaxed counterpart to the formality of the main event.
Guests and hospitality
Malay weddings are known for warm hospitality — guests are welcomed, fed and celebrated generously. Candid shots of guests enjoying the kenduri (feast) often become just as treasured as the formal couple portraits.
